Girl Scouts, Stars & Twinklers make "A GOOD TURN" today

"Share a peso and make a difference."

Today, February 22 is World Thinking Day. The Leon A.Garcia Sr. Elementary School Girl Scouts (junior, stars and twinklers) participated in this world wide celebration. The girls made a long queue in the gymnasium and each girl dropped a peso into a box.
     Where would the peso go?

Tita Gina Nomio explained that these pesos would go to the World Thinking Day fund which would be used to end poverty and hunger. This is the reason why you could not see any worry-face at that moment but  cheerful smiles. This was because the girls knew how their peso could make a difference.
     What a good turn indeed!
After which, an awarding ceremony was held. Badges and certificates were given to girl scouts as well as to the troop leaders.
      Hep! hep! Hooray!

LAGES Teachers got TALENTS

Teachers are not solely for classrooms but they got  bunch of talents. And when they are given the opportunity to showcase it, you would not believe that they are teachers. For they are extra GOOD or simply the BEST!. . you know?
Last February 17, 2012, during the Talomo District Meeting, LAGES teachers gave their best on the dance floor. They danced magnificently that made the audience to be in silence for several minutes.
Dr. Arlenor T. Abelardo, LAGES principal joined her teachers on stage. She showed that in whatever aspect, she would be around; be it school matters or talent showcase.
After the dance, you could not count people commenting "kuyawa nila mosayaw uy" or "gwapo."
Those comments may not be that much to keep but it brings honor to LAGES dancing teachers.

LAGES joins Cultural Arts Festival; Folk dancers win 3rd

Determination and discipline were the keys of LAGES folk dancers for spotting the 3rd rank among other Talomo district schools.
The dancers showed their grace and dynamism during their presentation. Their movements were very much coordinated, and their facial expressions flowed easily. These were proofs that they have gained their confidence.
Mrs. Jean M. Taguiang and Mr. John Edward Cabreros, their trainers, always trained the team religiously. Proper execution and movements were emphasized every dance practice. Of course, the trainers also did discipline the pupils to in vibe the aura of a folk dancer.
"Bringing these set of pupils to love folk dancing is quite hard due to they were used to modern dance; however I told them this is our culture and identity as Filipinos, later they enjoyed doing it," said Mrs. Taguiang.
Joseph Bahalla said that they never flelt any nervousness when they saw the crowd at the Mabini Elementary School instead they were challenged to give their absolute best. And truly they have succeeded.
In addition, song solo contingent Clariz Joy Pamine was also able to get the 6th place on her interpretation of  "Ugoy ng Duyan." She was trained by equally talented teacher, Mrs. Rowena Candog.
Dave Veroy also represented Leon to the art competition with Mr. Manuel A. Andayan Jr as his trainer.
