It’s “Paskuhan Time” at Leon A. Garcia Sr. ES

“Christmas is time for giving; it is time for sharing and it is time for us to be merry”

Every pupil waits this very day. It is a day which they look forward every school year. It is a day where they will be free of school works. And it is a day of laughter and fun. . Guess?

            The Class Christmas party!

Before the class party started, pupils flocked at the gym to witness a short program for the Paskuhan 2011. All grades showcased variety of talents, from Christmas Nativity (Kinder and grade I), dancing red students Santa Claus (grade II), modern dance “On the Floor”  (grade III and IV), and dance Remix (grade V). Dr. Arlenor T. Abelardo gave very warm opening remarks to everybody.

Afterwards, the class party bashed the school’s atmosphere. A glance in every room would make you think that happiness is endless. Parents also came, carrying foods and gifts; evident that it’s time for sharing their precious time to their kids.

Each class held parlor games, programs, dancing time, singing time and the most exciting (for pupils) the exchange gift. Amazement and excitement filled every pupil’s eye as they opened their eyes. Regardless of worth, regardless of kind, they find their gifts a blessing. . truly Christmas is a time for giving, a time for sharing and a time or sharing. MSE

MY JOY TO THE WORLD (The LAGES 5th Children of God’s Christmas Party)

I find joy when I see children enjoying the foods and prizes I prepared . . .  this is my joy to the world . . .  this is my advocacy, o Lord”
                                                                                                            Ma’am Ching

Our school has been truly blessed with an adaptor like Ma’am Ching. Today, December 13, 2011 at 10:30 in the morning, she held her 5th Children of God’s Christmas Party.
This has been a tradition for us here in school but this party today is quite different.  She told us last week that this might be her last Christmas party with our pupils, of course, due to financial constraints. She has no teaching loads anymore.
So, this party might be our “despedida” for our kind benefactor.
There was a short program. When the doxology song (Who Am I?) played, she reflected and asked God “Who Am I to continue your mission, O God? I’m poor and broken but I’m a dedicated servant of yours.”

She relayed this during her speech time. It was difficult for her to stop feeding these children, so by God’s grace she would try her best to continue, she swears.
Indeed, the children burst with joy and laughter during the party. They loved Ma’am Ching’s spag very much; they opened wide their mouths eagerly to bite Ching’s chix joy;  and they exchanged food satisfaction chats with others.
During the gift-giving time, they would try to reach the gifts. Excited. They would even say “kami ma’am, wala pa.” They always expect this part: to go home with a box full of freebies from Ma’am Ching’s party.
Ma’am Ching’s students from class 2002 graced the party. They came because they were the donors of the rice and ice cream which the children enjoyed. Somehow, they alleviate Ma’am Ching’s finances with their supports.

The teachers even wondered what their jobs .Ma’am Ching could not give an exact answer but “generous lang jud sila” (they are generous).
The party ended at around one o’clock. I never saw Ma’am Ching’s frown, I never saw an exhausted Ma’am Ching; what I saw was a Ma’am Ching full of joy, full of happiness, full of enthusiasm, full of hope that next year she would still be around with us ,and again hold party like this. . .  the 6th Children of God Christmas party.

LAGES joins Education Week Festival

"Edukasyon: Tungo sa Tapat na Pagbabago at Pag-unlad"
The Leon A. Garcia Sr. Elementary School gave importance to education by celebrating the Education Week Festival. The school prepared different activities for the one-week celebration. This include 3-days Bazaar at the gym, poster-making contest, film viewing on climate change and a culminating program.
It was a fun-filled moments, not only for the pupils but for the parents as well. This was because during the Bazaar, parents came to school and they were surprised to see how their children worked hard in selling their items (mostly Ukay-ukay). One parent even commented "mas hawod pa mamaligya ako anak ma'am." (My kid is more expert in selling than I do, Ma'am) with a giggle.
Parents realized that their children could support education in a simple ways, thus there could be no reason why they can't. And This can be done by attending like PTA meetings and the whole-year Brigada Eskwela.
The proceeds of the Bazaar will be used for the respective classroom party.
The activity ended with a culminating program wherein pupils showed their abilities and skills
